What changing diapers, cleaning the toilet and being on stage have to do with the economy
The daily balancing act between private care work and paid work presents many people with enormous challenges. They often have the feeling that it is their own failure and that they have to find a solution on their own. However, the reasons for the excessive demands are structural. They lie in the economic system and the devalued role that care work plays in it, just like art and culture. Only those who recognize how central their own care work is for culture and the economy can demand changes from politicians and stand up for equality. The economy is much more than the figures in the business section of newspapers suggest - it concerns us all! Because the economy also means cleaning the toilet, changing diapers, standing on stage, washing costumes ... get involved in an encouraging, economic change of perspective!

Fair sharing instead of exhaustion - paths to equal care
Care work is essential - it keeps families, communities and society together. But who takes on this work and how fairly is it distributed? In many cases, the main responsibility for children, relatives and the household remains with one person, often without conscious agreement.
Why does this happen? What structures contribute to this, and what preferences and patterns perpetuate unequal distributions? And above all: how can care be organized more fairly in everyday life, and what can we all do to contribute to this?
Speaker: Jo Lücke
