Helene-Achterberg-Hewelcke-Hilfsfonds e.V.

The actress Helene Achterberg-Hewelcke bequeathed her fortune to the GDBA. This was done with the stipulation that it be donated to the Helene-Achterberg-Hewelcke-Hilfsfonds für bedürftige Künstler:innen (Helene Achterberg-Hewelcke Aid Fund for needy artists) and thus support theater artists in need.

The aid fund is administered by GDBA's head office in Hamburg. A committee of three people decides on the allocation and amount of the grant. Those in need can apply for support via the mail address hilfsfonds@gdba.de, regardless of membership.
