Another round of negotiations to adopt the TVöD agreement remains unsuccessful
German Stage Association continues to refuse full adoption of the TVöD agreement
Berlin/Hamburg/Cologne, June 25, 2025 - A further round of negotiations scheduled for today to adjust wages for artists employed at theaters and concert halls on the basis of the NV Bühne and TVK collective agreements ended once again without result.
This is mainly because the German Stage Association is refusing to fully adopt the TVöD agreement as demanded by the trade unions BFFS, GDBA, unisono and VdO.
The negotiations are to be continued on September 15, 2025.
"If the German Stage Association refuses to accept important elements of the TVöD agreement on the grounds that they do not belong in these negotiations, then we believe that such a justification is not only factually incorrect, but remains an unacceptable attitude of refusal. We now see the need to increase the negotiating pressure until the next round of negotiations in September," said Gerrit Wedel, representing all four negotiators of the artists' unions.
The trade unions are demanding this in line with the TVöD agreement:
- Increase in basic salaries and activity allowances (TVK)
- by 3% (at least 110 euros) as of April 1, 2025
- by a further 2.8% on 1 May 2026
- Increase in the allowance (13th salary or summer/Christmas bonus) to 85%
- One individual day off per year
- Transfer of the shift allowance increase of 60 euros to the basic salary
